Biography

Songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist Adrian Niles grew up in a musical family near Wheeling, West Virginia. Influenced by his father's bluegrass bands, Niles started playing guitar at the age of nine years old.

He formed his first band, Legacy his Sophomore year of high school. Before he finished school, Niles was touring as the guitarist for original and covers Country Music act Terry Sechrest Band. The band played clubs, retail stores, and corporate events throughout Ohio, Indiana, and West Virginia..

After high school graduation he co-founded Reverend Smitty and the Backsliders. Adrian's vision for the band not being realized, he split and headed to Memphis, TN. in 1996. There he explored his love for blues music. having a natural musical ability, Niles  did well on Beale Street, however, personal circumstances drove him back home.

After returning to Wheeling he formed Adrian Niles Band. The band found solid promise in Pittsburgh, PA. Winning a battle of the bands gave the group enough studio time to record and subsequently release their debut CD "Manumit" in 1998. A band breakup shortly thereafter occurred and solo gigs and collaborations followed.

In 2006 Niles co-formed a roots rock band called The Trainjumpers. The following year they released a highly-acclaimed debut CD. The title track Deadtown was a local radio hit.

Since leaving The Trainjumpers, Niles has released seven more studio albums and many singles, gained recognition for his live performances opening for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame artists and many other significant performers. Adrian Niles has had song sync placements on several episodes of CBS’s “The Young & The Restless”, FX Network series “Justified”, and the PBS documentary “Rosemary”. Notable albums include "Supermoon" in 2015 and "Distant Skies" in 2020, his music continues to explore personal struggles and reflections.

In April of 2022, a new album was tracked and mixed. Wolf Spider, a full length analog tape production, was captured in live fashion with minimal overdubs over the course of 4 sessions. “Lyrically sound, garage rock, heavy alt. blues based, the album felt premature and required 3 years of incubation “, stated Niles. Wolf Spider is the debut release of his new vinyl-only label Roots Rock Records.
